Can you trust US NEWS top-rated Diets report?
Recently US News created a buzz with its list of 2010 top-rated diets. More and more people are ‘only slightly overweight’ and desperately looking for innovative diet news or solutions.
The Us News classifications include 22 diets based on research done by staff. Feedback came from health, nutrition and obesity experts. Each diet was scored on its ease of use, long/ short- term results, health and nutritional soundness and benefits.
The top ones were DASH (Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension) and TLC (Therapeutic Lifestyles Changes). Besides a natural weight loss approach, these two address health issues like high blood pressure, metabolic disorders and heart disease.
According to Marielle Ledoux, director of the Nutrition department at Montreal University “These two diets are good for everyone… healthy eating plans.”

1. DASH
- Endorsed by the American Heart Association, the main focus of the Dash diet is to lower blood pressure by reducing the amount of sodium in your diet.
- High in fiber and protein
- Low to moderate in fat. Rich in potassium, magnesium and calcium.

- Highly regarded by health professionals.
2. TLC
- Meals are baked, grilled, steamed, broiled and poached.

Avoid scams and gimmicks. Maybe none of the top-rated Us News diet is what you are looking for! A great diet should focus on good quality food, healthy eating habits and exercise. Yo-Yo diets are to be avoided at all cost. Many of them lead to bone loss, auto-immune diseases, and many other irreversible long term health problems. If it is possible, consult your doctor and a dietician.
